BEIJING, April 13 -- China's top audit official said Monday all auditing programs in China would incorporate performance evaluation from 2012.
Performance-based evaluation in auditing would include the assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the audited departments, with an aim to push all departments to improve management and increase efficiency.
Performance evaluation would be an indispensable part of China's auditing work from 2012, said Liu Jiayi, head of the National Audit Office, in a seminar held in Beijing.
To implement the new auditing approach, it is necessary to set up a widely accepted system of evaluation standards, he said.
