U.S. Chamber of Commerce welcomed the 45-billion-dollar export deals reached by two nations on Wednesday during President Hu Jintao's state visit to the United States.
"President Hu's visit is one of the most significant by a Chinese leader to the United States in recent memory because we have no more important bilateral partnership than our current relationship with China," said Myron Brilliant, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of International Affairs, in a statement.
He said the agreements were significant across a range of sectors and would benefit American exports and create American jobs.
"If we are going to double U.S. exports, it has to start by expanding our presence in China, one of the fastest growing regions of the world," he said.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
