Chinese shares rose slightly at their openings Thursday.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Inde rose 0.56 percent, or 16.92 points, to open at 2,875.86.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.84 percent, or 104.67 points, to open at 12,512.33.
