Chinese shares finished the morning session higher Thursday, boosted by gains in regional markets after the Federal Reserve said it would buy 600 billion U.S. dollars of government bonds to help the economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.14 percent to open at 3,035.37 and extended its gains to 1.32 percent, or 39.38 points, to end the morning break at 3,070.97.
The Shenzhen Component Index added 0.08 percent to open at 13,402.81 and widened its rally to 0.76 percent, or 101.84 points, to close the morning session at 13,494.54.
