Chinese shares posted a moderate rise Tuesday after a big rally on the previous trading day, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ending at 2,671.89 points, up 10.18 points, or 0.38 percent.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 11,281.97 points, up 117.18 points, or 1.05 percent.
Combined turnover shrank to 241.9 billion yuan (35.6 billion U.S. dollars) from 244.8 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 622 to 246 in Shanghai and 747 to 323 in Shenzhen.
