Chinese equities close lower at midday Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 8.91 points, or 0.34 percent, to end the morning session at 2,594.57 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 41.08 points or 0.37 percent to end at 10,968.41 points at midday.
