Chinese equities close lower at midday Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 12.37 points, or 0.47 percent, to end the morning session at 2,640.29 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 42.86 points higher, or up 0.38 percent, to end at 11,346.19 points at midday.
