Chinese equities closed mixed at midday Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 5.57 points, or 0.21 percent, to end the morning session at 2,583.15.
The Shenzhen Component Index climbed 31.96 points, or 0.29 percent, to close the morning session at 11,182.29.
